About Family & Cosmetic Dentistry
Located at 316 SW 16th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601, Family & Cosmetic Dentistry operates as a dentist serving Gainesville in Florida. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.
Hours are published for 4 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 amβ5 pm. It is closed on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (352) 378-3323. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is drberthughes.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Gainesville is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Gainesville follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Dismissive practitioner, unprofessional staff. Team that cant see the forest for the trees. Zero concern for patient care, big egos and no ears/ critical thinking. Information that contradicts itself from every member of their office. I wish I had done more research before coming in here. Believe the other reviews and choose wisely.

We've been going to Dr. Hughes for several years and have always had good care. Dr. Hughes and the staff show genuine concern for our dental needs. They are always friendly and supportive.

Dr. Hughes does a great job. Heβs very supportive and helpful. I did not experience any pain during my feelings. The prices were realistic and they did not overcharge me. They use my insurance properly and gave me a realistic plan. I donβt mind going there after having been traumatized by a dentist in the past, Dr. Hughes has lessen the anxiety of the experience of going to the Dentist. I fully recommend his services to anyone that needs to be seen by a Dentist. The best part is he will see your whole family and that is difficult when most dentists refuse to see young people.

Worst place ever! Horrible customer service, and communication skills I had to add to my review just because you decided to respond to it! Just to be clear, it is my right to communicate my experience with you guys which again was extremely poor and horrible! And if you need a recap on some of other peopleβs experiences, please do look down your reviews. Alot of people is not pleased with your service. If more than one person is saying the something about your business at some point, you need to start to reflect and try to make a difference. And to be honest, if I was able to make it a zero I would youβre lucky you got one star! And once again, your response determined level of professionalism that you guys do not have.

I am writing to share my experience so that others are fully informed before choosing this dental office. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience while receiving a crown procedure. During the process, the dentist trimmed down several of my surrounding teeth and exposed one of my tooth nerves, which caused me significant pain. The discomfort became severe, and I later sought care from another dentist for a root canal. At that appointment, I was informed that the nerve in my tooth had died and that I required a root canal to address the infection and ongoing pain. I was told this was the cause of the persistent toothache I had been experiencing. From the beginning, the dentist was unprofessional and dismissive. I did not feel that my concerns were heard or that patient care was a priority. Additionally, I was not provided with any written documentation outlining the cost of the procedure, nor was I given a detailed breakdown of charges. I have both Medicaid dental insurance and dental insurance through my employer. However, I was never shown proof that the office contacted either insurance provider to verify coverage or submit a claim. I was charged $10,000 on my cred
